August 8, 2005 - The 2005 Valvoline USAC/CRA Sprint
Car Series will resume Aug.
20 at Perris (Calif.) Auto Speedway, following the cancellation of this Saturday
night's originally-scheduled race at the Kings Speedway in Hanford, Calif. due
to scheduling conflicts at the facility.
Cory
Kruseman of Ventura, Calif., fourth in the current standings, won Saturday
night's 30-lapper at the Perris oval in his ITI Performance/Sander Engineering
TCR/Downing. The win was his fifth this season, four coming at Perris. He was
trailed at the checkered flag by Mike Spencer, Mike Kirby, David Cardey and Troy
Rutherford.
Damion Gardner, who posted an incredible 16th fast qualifying time Saturday,
finished 10th in the feature event to close to within 34 points of series leader
Rip Williams, who encountered engine problems after leading 14 laps of the race.
