April 11, 2005 - Once again, defending Valvoline CRA
Sprint Car Champion Rip
Williams will contest for his 100th career Sprint car feature victory when the
series resumes this Saturday night at the Perris (Calif.) Auto Speedway.
Williams, in 17 starts at The PAS in 2004, scored three wins, five seconds and
four thirds and was only out of the "top-10" once!
Rip
holds a slim four-point lead over Charles Davis, Jr. in the latest CRA standings
going into Saturday night's races.
Mike
Kirby and Cory Kruseman also bear watching Saturday in the battle for points
toward the 2005 CRA title. Kirby ranks third in the standings and has finished
no worse than third in three PAS starts this season. Kruseman, who ranks fourth
in points, won the last race at the 1/2-mile dirt oval March 26.
Damion
Gardner, currently fifth in the standings, hopes to continue his Perris mastery
as well. Gardner won the first two races there this season and has been the
fastest qualifier at five of the last six CRA events.
