MARCH 21, 2005...Today,
Black Widow Racing’s team manager, Jack Gardner Jr, announced Steve Ostling of
Corona, California has agreed to drive the # 5 team car owned by Nadine Keller,
for the rest of the season.
The 41 year old driver has
been racing sprint cars for 21 years and has eight career 410 sprint wins,
including the 2002 Kindoll Classic. Steve is a sheet rock installer when not
racing, and is married to Shelly and has a daughter named Taylor. He comes from
a family of racers as cousins Mike Sweeney and Verne Sweeney also raced sprint
cars.
Steve has been a hired gun
driving many cars since his former ride, the Fischer Motorsports entry, was
retired last season. He will begin racing the black number 5 At the PAS on April
16.
Crew chief Jim Gardner will
turn the wrenches for both cars as the Gardner family will continue to crew the
Black Widow entries that run the Gardner produced Sled Chassis machines that
have won many races over the years.
