Wagner has also earned a reputation for supporting series participants, founding
the popular "Wagsdash" in 1991, a unique race for the low buck racers,
generating prize money from race-fan donations.
Beginning with a $5,000 purse, this race has grown to a purse of nearly $20,000.
The 15th annual "Wagsdash" is scheduled for this October at Ventura
(Calif.) Raceway.
Between Wagsbucks collections, the Wagsdash purses, tow money for various tours,
as well as other special fundraisers throughout the years, Wags and his crew of
Wagtimers have collected nearly $400,000 for Southern California's low buck
nonwing race teams.
