Santa Maria, CA - April 17, 2004...Jimmy Thompson, of Grover Beach, took
up right where he left off in 2003 by winning the first J.B. Dewar/Bandit Sprint

Thompson passed Santa Maria's Darrin Simas on the sixth circuit of the 30-lap
event and held him at bay for the duration of the run. Series point leader Danny
Sheridan grabbed third with a last lap, last turn pass on Kerman's Davey Pombo
who had to settle for fourth. Steve DeMott, of Santa Maria, rounded out the

the ninth lap, Kirkpatrick re-passed Oathout and went on for the win. Santa
Maria's Tim Randolph placed second with Bakersfield's Billy Simkins third.
