LAKEWOOD, CA, JUNE 26, 2004 - Sprint Car Racing Association
President Ron
Shuman announced today that the inaugural race at the Prescott
Valley Raceway (Prescott Valley, AZ) slated for July 3rd has been
postponed, siting delays in the completion of the brand new
facility.
"Jim Storm and his crew have been working really hard to get
everything done in time for us, but it looks like they're just going
to run out of time," Shuman said. "I want to thank
everyone for their efforts and let all of our fans and teams know
that we are currently looking at a few dates for Prescott later in
the year."
The Prescott race would have been the first non-California race of
the season for the SCRA sprinters. That distinction will now
go to Hollywood Hills Speedway in San Felipe, New Mexico, which will
kickoff the 6th Annual Non-Wing World Championship tour on August
6th and 7th. The next regularly scheduled SCRA event will be
held on July 10th at the Thunderbowl Raceway in Tulare (CA).
