LAKEWOOD, CA, MARCH 5, 2004 - Sprint Car Racing Association President Ron
Shuman announced earlier this week that the first race of the 2004 NAPA Auto
Parts / Auto Trader Magazines SCRA season, which was scheduled at the
Thunderbowl
Raceway (Tulare) for Saturday, April 3rd, has been moved to Sunday, April 4th.
Track officials, as well as the Board of Directors of the SCRA, felt it was in
the best interest of the fans and competitors that this event be moved to Sunday
afternoon since another 410 sprint car race was scheduled for Saturday night in
the same general area. Spectator gates will open at 10 a.m., with the first race
slated to push off at 1 p.m.
The Tulare race is not the only change to the SCRA schedule since it was
originally released earlier in this year. A race at Hollywood Hills
Speedway (San Felipe, NM) has been added for Friday night August 6th. The
August 7th race at Hollywood Hills Speedway is still on the schedule and will be
televised by the Outdoor Channel. In addition, a June 5th date has
been given to Prescott Valley Raceway (AZ).
Unfortunately, the SCRA's plans to return to the Pacific Northwest have been
postponed.
