(NOVEMBER 29, 2004, PERRIS, CA) For the second year
in a row, the prestigious Jeff Bagley Classic will return to Perris Auto
Speedway in 2005. Set for August 20th, the race will once again feature the
popular Valvoline USAC/CRA Sprint Cars.
The Jeff Bagley Classic honors the 1988 CRA Rookie of the Year who was fatally
injured in a crash at Ascot Park in 1989. The race also remembers Bagley’s
parents, Paul & Helen, who lost their lives at The PAS in 2003.
“We are pleased that the Jeff Bagley Classic will be at The PAS for the second
year in a row,” stated veteran Perris promoter Don Kazarian. “The race means
so much to so many people, it will be an honor having it at our track again and
under the USAC/CRA banner. It was heart warming to see so many people get
involved with the race in 2004. I imagine it will get even bigger in 2005.”
Damion Gardner won the 2004 version of the Jeff Bagley Classic at The PAS on
October 9th. Series champion Rip Williams was second with 1993 CRA Champ Mike
Kirby, 1993 CRA Rookie of the Year Charles Davis, Jr., and Greg Bragg rounding
out the top five.
