PERRIS AUTO SPEEDWAY 2005 USAC/CRA SCHEDULE SET! |

(OCTOBER 31, 2004, PERRIS, CA) On Saturday night at the 9th Annual Budweiser
Oval Nationals presented by Temecula Valley Pipe & Supply, Perris Auto
Speedway released their 2005 Valvoline USAC/CRA Sprint Car schedule. The 23-date
docket is the most aggressive sprint car schedule in track history. Promoter Don Kazarian announced that the 2005 campaign would commence with a weekend, daytime doubleheader on February 5th and 6th. This will be just like the old days of the original CRA at the California Mid-Winter in El Centro, said Kazarian. CRA went down there for one or two weekends at the start of every season and raced under the sun. It was a tradition from the late 1950s to the early 1990s and it brought out a lot of cars and visiting drivers from other parts of the country. Two weeks following the opening weekend, the USAC/CRA Sprint Cars will return for their 2005 PAS night opener on February 19th. After that, the series will be at the Riverside County clay oval nearly every other weekend through November. The 10th Annual Oval Nationals will take place on November 3rd, 4th and 5th. Over the years, the Oval Nationals had become one of the countries most prestigious sprint car events. It became bigger in 2004 with the USAC sanction featuring the USAC/CRA Series and the USAC National Sprint Car Series. The 2004 edition produced the best field and the most exciting race in the tracks history. Other 50-lappers on the 2005 schedule are the May 28th Salute to Indy, July 3rd Firecracker 50, September 3rd Labor Day Weekend 50 and the Annual Jack Kindoll Classic on November 19th. When asked about the expanded schedule Kazarian commented, We are very happy with the way things went with USAC/CRA this year and we want to take it to the next level in 2005. In addition to our schedule expanding, the USAC/CRA Series is expanding. It is taking this great brand of racing to some new tracks next year.
