KRUSEMAN ENTERS SATURDAY’S
VALVOLINE USAC/CRA SPRINT CAR RACE AT PERRIS AUTO SPEEDWAY!
|
(AUGUST 18, 2004, PERRIS, CA) Cory Kruseman, one of the countries most
popular and successful sprint car drivers, will be flying back to his native
Southern California to drive in Saturday’s Valvoline USAC/CRA Sprint Car race
at Perris Auto Speedway.
Kruseman, who turns 34 in September, will be driving the silver #4 owned by Mark
Alexander of Torrance. His statistics in the Alexander car have been nothing
short of incredible. In eight 2004 starts he has only finished out of the top
three two times. He has three wins, two second place finishes and a third.
Two of his wins have come on Manzanita Speedway’s big half-mile in Phoenix and
he has a single victory at Skagit Speedway in Alger, Washington. His best
finishes at Perris in 2004 have been a pair seconds (3/6 and 6/12). In years
gone by the Riverside County Clay oval and Kruseman have gotten along very well.
He has several wins at the eight year-old speed plant including a mind boggling
12 victories in 2001. He also has three wins at the prestigious Jack Kindoll
Classic at The PAS (1998, 2000 and 2001).
Known by his fans as “The Kruser,” the affable racer normally drives for
NASCAR Nextel Cup Superstar Tony Stewart on the USAC National Sprint Car Series
in the Midwest. In 2004 competition in the Midwest, Kruseman is currently ranked
third in USAC points and has posted three wins in Indiana (Terre Haute,
Putnamville and Haubstadt). In addition to his sprint car driving duties, he
also competes in midgets and silver crown cars and has had rides in the NASCAR
Craftsman Truck Series and the Indy Racing League.
When not racing, Kruseman makes his living driving racecars!!! He owns and
operates the Cory Kruseman Sprint Car Driving School at the Ventura Raceway. He
is married to his high school sweetheart Carri and they live in Ventura with
their young daughter Casie.
Spectator gates will open at 5:00 PM on Saturday and racing will begin at 7:00.
Perris Auto Speedway is conveniently located on the Lake Perris Fairgrounds,
home of the Southern California Fair, approximately one hour east of Los
Angeles. Take the 215 Freeway, exit at the Ramona Expressway and go east two and
a half miles to the fairgrounds.
