BAGLEY CLASSIC MOVES TO PERRIS AUTO
SPEEDWAY!
|
(APRIL 16, 2004, PERRIS, CA) Promoter Don Kazarian has announced that the
annual Bagley Classic has been scheduled for Saturday, October 9th at Perris
Auto Speedway.
The Bagley Classic honors driver Jeff Bagley and his parents Paul and Helen.
Jeff, the 1988 CRA Rookie of the year, lost his life in a sprint car crash while
competing at Ascot Park in Gardena in 1989. Paul and Helen, longtime supporters
of West Coast open wheel racing, lost their lives in a tragic sprint car
accident last year at The PAS.
Steve Bagley, Paul and Helen’s son and Jeff’s brother, requested that this
year’s Bagley Classic would be held at The PAS. “We are happy to host the
Bagley Classic,” stated Kazarian. “Jeff, Paul and Helen were extremely
popular with everyone associated with sprint car racing in the Southwest. We
plan on making the Bagley Class a very special event.”
The October 9th Bagley Classic will kick off a series of six straight special
events for the Valvoline USAC/CRA Sprint Car Series. The following Saturday,
October 16th, the USAC/CRA Sprint Cars will make the long overdue return of
traditional (non-wing 410) sprint car racing to the over half century old
Bakersfield Speedway. On October 23rd, the USAC/CRA Sprint Cars will contest the
Wagsdash, one of the longest running and most popular events on the West Coast,
at Jim Naylor’s Ventura Raceway. The USAC National Sprint Car Series will join
forces with the USAC/CRA Series from October 28th through the 30th for the 9th
Annual Oval Nationals at The PAS and then again from November 4th through the
6th at the Western World Championship at Manzanita Speedway in Phoenix. The
final race in the nearly two-month long string of elite sprint car events will
be the prestigious Jack Kindoll Class at The PAS on November 20th.
