ORLAND, CA - SEPTEMBER 27, - Orland Raceway's 2004 point
season came to a very satisfying conclusion on Saturday, Sept. 25th.
As promoters, we'd like to offer our congratulations to all drivers
who successfully completed the season's activities, especially the
Champions in all five divisions.
We had repeat winners in two divisions: Wes Dinsmore (Chico) won
the Pure Stock Championship and BJ Martin (Orland) won Orland
Raceway's Mini Modified Championship. Ken Lewis (Orland) was a
repeat champion in the Mini Stocks, with a "year off" in
the title spot; his titles include 2002 and now 2004. Tony Richards
of Chico, who recently began doing business in Orland, was the Wix
Filters Sprint division champion. And the most exciting new champion
of the season is Orland's own Phil Metz.
Our local champions don't reflect the diversity of drivers who
compete weekly at Orland Raceway. We're proud to provide a safe
racing surface for drivers from San Jose, Petaluma, Calistoga,
Sacramento ... northward to Medford; onward to Chico, and basically
all points in between and even farther Eastward. We're equally proud
that our car count has increased almost weekly this season, in all
divisions.
No other North Valley track offers young drivers, aged 14 and up,
an opportunity to experience and learn the motorsports adventure.
We've lived in and loved the Orland community for over twenty
years, and plan to continue promoting our love of racing in our
hometown for as long as the community continues to love action,
adventure and family fun at prices that'll keep everybody right here
in Glenn County on Saturday night.
Thanks to the racers, their pit crew, and especially to the fans
who make this adventure continue to succeed. God Bless you all for
supporting our little part of the racing world.
We look forward to your support as well as your participation in our
2005 season!
Paul and Carol Turner
