Phoenix,
AZ (October 20) The
Budweiser/NAPA Western World Championship’s entry list has grown to 101
entries with many more big names expected to enter.
The
Weld Wheels 360 Western has already attracted 64 entries with many of the
drivers entered for the one third mile track races also signing up for the
USAC races on Manzy’s famed half mile track. Among those pulling double duty
will be last year’s 360 champion and 2001 Western World winner Jeremy
Sherman.
Sherman
has been unbeatable in the 360s since landing a ride in the Fred Bryan car. He
has entered five races in the fast, reliable Buckley and has put it in victory
lane in all five of them.
Others
include Rickie Gaunt, the 2004 SCRA and Non Winged World Sprint Car Champion,
former Arizona champions Eric Wilkins and Bob Ream, Jr., two time Arizona
Champion and runner-up to Gaunt in the SCRA, Charles Davis, Jr. and one of the
top young drivers in the west, R.J. Johnson. Nathan High, having a banner year
with the Arizona Sprint Car Association is also entered in both divisions.
Among
the Midwest drivers already entered are Jon Stanbrough of Jamestown, IN fresh
from a USAC win on October 16, Bill Rose of Plainfield, IN, former USAC
champion Dave Darland, Kokomo, IN, Tom Hessert, Cherry Hill, NJ, Mat Neely,
Robinson, IN
