CA - December 4, 2004...The 2004 CSRA Awards Banquet was held
on Saturday, November 27th at the Buggy Whip Restaurant in
Sacramento
.
Ron Albright did the announcing and all 80 plus guests had
a great evening.
The night belonged to Billy Garcia, the 2004 CSRA Champion
and Bob Dias the car owner. Thank you Billy and Bob and all your crew and
family for an outstanding season. Bob Dias received a championship payout
of $1000.00 to a standing ovation. “CSRA is a working man’s association,”
says Bob Dias. “CSRA went from baby steps to leap’s and bounds in
it’s second season” states 4th place winner Scott Pierson.
The 2004 points championship fund came to life with
$3800.00 divided among the top ten owners; 1st Bob Dias, 2nd
Bobby Bankson, 3rd Sam Fries, 4th Scott Pierson, 5th
Mike Enos, 6th Anthony Dicero, 7th Don Emery, 8th
James Flynn, 9th Tony Richards and 10th Steve Nelson.
The top ten drivers received trophies with the top 5
awarded product certificates; 1st Billy Garcia, 2nd Bobby
Bankson, 3rd Sam Fries, 4th Scott Pierson, 5th
Mike Enos, 6th Don Emery, 7th Tim Sherman, 8th
James Flynn, 9th Jacob Serven and 10th Tony Richards.
In addition to winning 5th place owner and
driver, Mike Enos also took the “Rookie of the Year” award. Thanks
Mike and your crew for your outstanding performance this year.
A special thank you to Angie Anderson for her hard work and
her unwavering drive to make the 2004 Champ Fund as successful as it was.
Thank you to Richard and Diane Basden for their hard work
and loyalty in making the 2004 season a huge success.
It takes the support of a lot of people to make a
successful season. CSRA would like to thank some of the really special
ones; Wendy Kellogg, the Webmaster, Ernie Oldham, Head Official, Bill King, Back
Straightaway Official, Gary Gonzales, Sierra Tow, Frank Richards, Sales
Representative and Elton Allred, Pac West Trailers.
After the awards were handed out, we proceeded with the
raffle and the 50/50 drawing. The 50/50 has been a wonderful fundraiser
during the season and tonight we gave away our biggest prize of $128.00, which
left the 2005 Champ Fund with $128.00. The total raised from the raffle
was around $400.00.
A special thank you to the Buggy Whip for helping us make
this banquet a memorable one. The service and the accommodations were
beyond outstanding.
