The Valvoline/USAC CRA Sprint Car Series returns to Kings Speedway in Hanford,
Calif. this Saturday and Damion Gardner, who won the feature at Kings in April,
hopes to slice into Rip Williams' 26-point series lead.
Gardner, of Concord, Calif., has four CRA feature victories already this year.
Williams, of Yorba Linda, Calif., who finished second to Gardner in the April
race at Hanford, has three wins so far in search of his initial career driving
title.
Mike Kirby of Lomita, Calif. ranks third in the series standings entering the
Hanford race. He trails Williams by 72 and Gardner by 46 with 74 points
available Saturday. Kirby also has three victories so far in the 2004 campaign.
A 30-lap feature event caps Saturday night's action at the 3/8-mile dirt Kings
Speedway oval.
