The
Pacific Coast Nationals was once
heralded as one of the major sprint car events of
the year. As part of the "Triple Crown," Gardena, California's Ascot
Park was the host to many classic battles. After the
track closed in 1990, the event was moved to
Manzanita and then to Hanford in 1994. Eventually the headlining division had changed.
The event was revived in 2009 at the Tulare
Thunderbowl Raceway.
Event
winners include Bob Hogle, Rick Ferkel, Ron Shuman,
Dean Thompson, Steve Kinser, Sammy Swindell, Bubby
Jones, Brad Noffsinger, and Rip Williams.
