 1983 CRA Season 

It was the Dean and Bubby show round two, 'Ol Bub started the year out with a win, his first of 18 for the year, Deano ended up with 13 wins, and was sidelined during the year with a knee injury. 

The CRA was the largest sprint car association in America, with an average 41 cars per race. 13 different drivers won main events, including Steve Kinser when he took the lions share of the $32,650 purse for the Don Peabody classic.

Dean Thompson had the most fast times with 15 and Jones had the most laps led with 381 in the Kazarian Bros. #2. Shuman closed the season with his 2nd win of the year and joined the repeat main event winner list of, Lealand McSpadden, Eddie Wirth, Tim Green, Rip Williams, and Jeff Heywood along with Jones and Thompson.

The unforgiving Ascot Park took the life of Todd Noffsinger and Larry Mackey.

The final score was Jones, Thompson, Heywood, Wirth and 5th in points was Tony Simon.
