April 15, 2004...The 2nd NCMA Spec Sprint West Coast Select
Series race will be at Chowchilla Speedway on Saturday, April 24.
This series is open to all Spec Sprint legal cars, following the
NCMA rules. The series consists of 6 races, the 1st of which was at
Bakersfield Speedway on March 13, and was won By Tim Sherman of
Citrus Heights. The upcoming race will be at Chowchilla's well
prepared 1/3 mile track, where the hospitality is great and the
racing is fast.
These races are roughly scheduled a month apart, to ease the part
time racer's budget, as well as to allow drivers in other Spec
Sprint clubs to participate in their own track's racing programs and
also experience racing at different tracks. The 3rd race of the
series will be on May 7 at Watsonville's hooked up 1/4 mile track,
the 4th on July 10 at Reno-Fernley's fun 3/8 mile track, the 5th on
August 13 at Watsonville, and the final series race will be at
Chowchilla Speedway on Saturday, September 11.
The winner of the West Coast Select Series will receive $1000.00,
2nd place $500.00, 3rd $250.00. This point fund will increase as
additional sponsorship is attained. The individual races are regular
NCMA purse amounts, with additional CL Bryant fuel awards as
well.
