Hanford, CA -May 6, 2000--Only fast time eluded
Jerome Warmerdam as he raced to victory in the feature for the Bandit
unwinged 360 sprint cars and won his heat after timing second fast
Saturday night at Kings Speedway. Gene Manhire pressured Warmerdam
down the stretch while Brad Evett ran third. Defending track champion
Jimmy Reeves won the 20 lap main for the IMCA Modifieds to join Mike
Johnson as a two time winner in 2000. Johnson lost second in an

ahead of Lonnie Lacy Jr. When Bryan Burnes teamed up with Justyn
Labutski for the 2000 season, big things were predicted for the team,

lap main ahead of J T Contente and Johnny Cardoza.

leader A J Burgin posted fast time honors with his 15.728 lap as

Davey Pombo returned to Bandit action by timing fourth fast at 15.992.

won heat 2 with Brenden Olsen second ahead of Pombo. It was
Warmerdam's third win of 2000 and all three have come at the Kings
Speedway 3/8 mile clay oval. Manhire finished second with Evett third
ahead of Pombo, Olsen, Bobby Davis Jr, Josh Davis, Dave Knott and
Burgin. Jim Phelan was a feature scratch.
The IMCA Modifieds had 18 cars and they were split into three
qualifying heats with Reeves the first heat winner with Johnson
second. Chad Patterson edged out Tom Bowser in heat 2. For the 2000
season, Wayne Coffman from Bakersfield switched his point racing to
the Hanford track and he won heat 3 with Ed Nichols second. Gary Pugh
had trailered after problems in hot laps and the remaining 17 cars all
started the 20 lap main. Reeves took main event honors in front of
Coffman, Watsonville long tow Lonnie Lacy Jr, Bowser, Johnson, Joe
Chapman, Tom Stidham and Bob Dias.
The Hot Stocks were not only running a regular show at Kings, but

Stock Championship Series that opens May 13th at Bakersfield Speedway
