Hanford, CA -October 9, 1999--Dominator of the
unwinged 360 sprint car action in his home state Arizona, Bob Ream Jr
made his first ever visit to Kings Speedway for the season finale for
the Bandit Sprint Car Series and he raced to victory in their 20 lap
main event. Ream was followed at the checkered flag by Gene Manhire
and Greg Porte.
Jerome Warmerdam had posted fast time at 15.977 and the 20 car
turnout was split into three heat races. Warmerdam himself won heat 1
ahead of El Centros Charlie Ekiss and veteran dirt late model racer
Rick Becker. Dave Knott was a surprise winner in heat 2 ahead of A J
Burgin and Brenden Olsen. Young Matt Day won heat 3 with series
champion Jarrett Chaney second ahead of Mike Knopf. Ream impressed all
of the California teams as he drove to the feature win with veteran
Manhire second ahead of Porte, Burgin, Ekiss, Knopf, Keith Silva and
Olsen. Warmerdam settled for 11th and Chaney ended his championship
season with a 12th.
